February 2020 Digital Edition The February issue of Citrus Industry magazine lets growers know what diseases to be on the lookout for this season and how best to spot and manage them in the grove. Citrus canker, greasy spot, melanose, black spot and postbloom fruit drop are among the diseases to be on alert for this year. A re-emerging citrus disease, algal spot, and a threat to Florida, citrus leprosis, are also covered. In the February CEU Central article, growers will learn ways to improve their pest and disease scouting skills while having the opportunity to earn one continuing education unit in the Core category toward the Florida restricted-use pesticide license. Finally, don’t miss the feature on the newest members of the Florida Citrus Hall of Fame. For more news, be sure to listen to the first episode of the year of the All In For Citrus podcast. Topics include enhancing University of Florida citrus communications, threshold numbers on production costs, nutrition programs for managing HLB-affected trees, and breeding work to solve citrus challenges.
